Birdie keeps her candle holder next to her bed and lights it every night. The form of the candle holder reminds her of how many sparrows come to her window in the morning.  Watching the flickering light of the flame helps her through the night when the thunder rolls. Sometimes when it casts a shadow on the wall in the shape of an acorn with leaves. Birdie also likes the grip of the branch when she walks down the hall to find her box of chocolates in the dark.
